C. H. Kirkman, Jr. Resource Library
for Cooperatives

About the Center for the Study of Cooperatives

In 1994, the Center for the Study of Cooperatives was created through a public/private partnership between the District of Columbia, the National Cooperative Business Association (NCBA) and the University of the District of Columbia's Community Outreach and Extension Services. The purpose of the Center is to provide an interdisciplinary base for the study of Cooperatives. This Center's intent is to bring together the expertise of the UDC Cooperative Extension Service (CES), the David A. Clark School of Law, the School of Business and Public Administration, the College of Arts and Sciences' Non-Profit Leadership Institute, and the Learning Resources Division to support the development and maintenance of cooperatives throughout the Washington Metropolitan Region.
